BUSINESS OVERVIEW:

Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) manages relationships with clients including the largest banks, hedge funds, asset managers, insurance companies, private equity and sovereign nations. FIC originates deals, working with internal product specialists such as Sales & Trading (Credit, G10 Rates, Equity Derivatives, etc.), Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, Clearing and Custody to execute deals and win mandates. You will learn about various products and engage in relationship-based, client-facing projects as you work with bankers who own client relationships, understand a client’s needs and themes/trends affecting the industry.

 As a FIC ICAT summer intern, you will:

    • Develop an in-depth understanding of the counterparties/groups under his/her responsibility and develop market intelligence by investigating all available sources of credit and financial information.
    • Monitor permanently his/her portfolio developing market knowledge, anticipating risk and to detect any credit issue requiring a specific review.
    • Prepare and submit Annual and interim reviews on-time and present to Credit Committee a factual summary of the client’s credit worthiness that is compliant with the Bank’s guidelines. The credit proposal includes a recommendation on the ratings, the limits, the legal credit terms and the risk strategy vis-a-vis the client.
    • Develop a good knowledge of the banking environment: capital market products, legal documentation, accounting and regulatory environments.
    • Contribute to due diligences in collaboration with Bankers, Credit officers and SCOs
    • Contribute to portfolio reviews when required
    • Keep abreast of the changing methodologies and credit policies
    • Apply the Bank’s procedures and policies and the consistency of Bank’s ratings

  • Complete technical projects and collaborate with colleagues across the Bank, gaining exposure to real work in order to identify your skills and explore where your interests align
  • Participate in weekly senior speaker events and roundtable discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of financial markets and the industry
  • Network with colleagues and learn about industry topics through workshops and speaker series, as well as through philanthropy and social events

    COMPENSATION:

    The annualized base salary for this position in New York, NY is $75,000.
